Home improvement soars high
Friday, 10 March 2006
A research by a renowned lending institution has revealed that people in United Kingdom have spent billions of pounds in their home improvements last year. The primary reason found behind this rise in home improvements was the people to add value to their house and make it more attractive to buyers.
The survey conducted over 1,300 households found similar trends throughout UK.
More than 75 per cent of those questioned in the survey said that they are planning to renovate their homes next year showing an increase of three times than 2003.
Home renovation plans included painting, extensions and new kitchens as well as loft renovations. The survey also pointed out the trend of people carrying out home improvements on their own with two out of three people interviewed saying that they would carry out the work themselves.
This research has come out as good news for different lenders specialising in
home improvement loans.
